Ballon d'Or winner Kaka expresses interest to join Ancelotti’s Brazil coaching staff

Former Brazil star Ricardo Kaka has expressed his intense interest to return to Brazil’s national team and to work as a member of Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff.

The 2002 World Cup winner, who played 92 times for Brazil, Kaka said he is ready to take on a new role as the team gears up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Italian Carlo Ancelotti has become manager of the Brazil national team on May 26, 2025.

Ever since Ancelotti was appointed Brazil's head coach, there have been rumors that the Real Madrid coach wants former Ballon d'Or winner Ricardo Kaka to join him as an assistant coach.

Carlo Ancelotti, who has coached club football for almost three decades, is going to take charge of Brazil at the end of his career.

Earlier this month, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed that Ancelotti will officially join the Brazil national team coach after Real Madrid's last La Liga match in the 2024-25 season against Real Sociedad.

Although head coach Carlo has been talked about for a long time, Kaka recently spoke about joining his own Brazil team in a media interview.

The 43-year-old Kaka said in a recent interview with Cage TV, "If the opportunity arises, I am ready to return to the Seleção (Brazil national football team). I am ready. I have been trying to prepare myself since 2017. I have done a sports business course at Harvard, a coaching course at CBF. I have experience playing for the national team and in the World Cup.”
