Jake Paul is preparing for one of the biggest challenges of his boxing career as he steps into the ring against former unified heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua this December.

The eight-round professional bout will take place at Miami’s Kaseya Center, according to Most Valuable Promotions.

Paul, 28, continues his transition from YouTube star to legitimate contender, while 36-year-old Joshua brings years of elite experience, having twice held the WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles, NBC News reported.

The highly anticipated matchup is set for December 19 and will stream globally on Netflix.

This will be Paul’s second major live event on the platform after his headline-grabbing victory over Mike Tyson last year. The fight is expected to draw significant international attention, marking a major moment for both athletes.

Ahead of the bout, Paul described the showdown as “Judgment Day,” insisting it represents a true heavyweight test against a champion still at the top of his game.

He declared his intention to silence critics, saying the victory would prove he deserves a shot at a world title. Paul also aimed a message at British fans, remarking, “To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry.”

Joshua enters the fight with an impressive professional record of 28 wins and 4 losses, including 25 knockouts.

Despite a decorated career that includes an Olympic gold medal and multiple world titles, he has faced recent setbacks.

He suffered consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk and was knocked out by Daniel Dubois during an IBF title fight last September—his most recent appearance in the ring.

Still, Joshua warned that Paul should expect “no mercy” when they meet. He said he is returning from a break with renewed determination and is ready to deliver a “mega show.”

Joshua added that he plans to break records, noting that more fighters may follow his lead in taking unconventional matchups. Confident and unapologetic, he claimed he is “about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
