About the BCDI 2030 Program
Launched in 2022, the BCDI 2030 is an eight-year initiative that aims to
support up to 600 international students by 2030. The program is aligned with
the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
particularly those focused on reducing global inequality and promoting
inclusive, quality education. A key focus is ensuring that at least 51%
of selected scholars are women, advancing gender equality in global
education.

Eligible Countries
Students from the following 26 countries are eligible:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo,
Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti,
Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, São
Tomé and PrÃncipe, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, and Tunisia.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must:

Be a citizen of one of the eligible
countries
·
Be nominated through a partner
institution involved in a project-based agreement
·
Meet the academic and admission criteria
of the Canadian institution
·
Show a commitment to contribute to their home
country’s development upon program completion
How to Apply
Direct applications to the BCDI 2030 program are not accepted.
Instead, follow these steps:
1. Canadian
institutions form partnerships with universities or colleges in eligible
countries
2. These
institutions issue calls for applications
3. Interested
students apply through their local institution or the international
partner
4. Project
teams select candidates based on merit and alignment with program goals
Application Deadlines
Deadlines vary depending on the specific project, but all applications must
be completed before the program concludes in 2030.
