Visas of foreigners who ‘celebrated’ Charlie Kirk's assassination to be revoked: Marco Rubio
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that the visas of foreigners who "celebrated" the murder of conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk are being revoked.
In a
post on X (formerly Twitter), Rubio shared a video statement condemning the
behavior, stating that the U.S. will not "host foreigners who celebrate
the death of our fellow citizens."
Captioning
the video, Rubio wrote that such people are “not welcome” in the US.
“America
will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens. Visa
revocations are under way. If you are here on a visa and cheering on the public
assassination of a political figure, prepare to be deported. You are not
welcome in this country,” he wrote.
He
emphasized that the U.S. should not grant visas to individuals who would engage
in such "negative and destructive behaviour."

Charlie Kirk, a right-wing influencer and a close ally of President Donald Trump, was assassinated on September 10 at an event at Utah Valley University. Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting.
Robinson reportedly confessed to someone close to him after shooting Kirk dead, which led to his arrest later.
